About Me
I have over 20 years of experience in the social sector working professionally for five different organizations in San Jose & Sacramento, California, Portland, Oregon, and now back home in Tucson, Arizona. My introduction to the sector came in Tucson, where I grew up and was a Girl Scout. As a Girl Scout I was part of my first team, did my first community service projects with soup kitchens & retirement homes, of course sold cookies, and went to horse camp. My horse's name was Homer.
After four years at The University of Arizona where I studied Human Communication and Business, I moved north and served for two years as an AmeriCorps member in San Jose, California with City Year, an education organization. This began ten years working in the education space as a trainer, event planner, program director, fundraiser, manager, and executive leader.
City Year took me from San Jose to Sacramento in 2011 to lead the start up team there. In only six months, we successfully opened the doors of City Year's 22nd U.S. location. This is one of my proudest professional moments.
In 2013, I moved north again - this time to Portland. I worked for two great organizations, chaired a great board, and volunteered meaningfully with several great organizations.
At the end of 2017, I began a new chapter, as I picked up my life and brought it back to Tucson, to work at my alma mater. I currently serve as the Sr. Director for Alumni & Development for the James E. Rogers College of Law.
